MEET ANTHONY
Anthony Daniels serves as the Minority Leader of the Alabama House of Representatives and has represented Alabama House District 53 since 2014. He became the youngest person and the first African American to serve as House Minority Leader in Alabama history.
Daniels grew up in Midway, Alabama. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and his master’s degree in special education from Alabama A&M University. Daniels is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Before entering politics, he worked in education, nonprofit leadership, and community development.
In the legislature, Daniels has focused on economic development, education access, healthcare, and small business growth. He is also known for his work with First Book North Alabama, a nonprofit that provides books to underserved children.
Daniels is married to his wife, Dr. Teneshia Daniels, and together they share two children. After receiving a life-saving kidney donation from his wife, Anthony Daniels became an advocate for organ donation awareness and healthcare access across Alabama. Grounded in his faith, Daniels remains committed to serving Alabama families with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
